Description
YE Series Motor for Screw Conveyor Drive Assemblies
YE Series Screw Conveyor Motors provide input power for reducer-driven tubular screw conveyors.
The range covers 1.1–22 kW and motor frames from 90S to 180L. Motors can be supplied individually, matched with an M or S Series gear reducer, or delivered as part of a complete screw conveyor drive assembly.
The YE Series combines an efficiency-focused motor design with clearly defined shaft and flange interfaces. This provides a practical drive solution for new conveyors, motor replacement and complete drive rebuilds.

| Reducer-Matched Interfaces | Motor shaft, flange and frame can be matched to the selected reducer |
| Defined Mechanical Dimensions | Reduces uncertainty when replacing an existing motor |
| Motor or Complete Drive Supply | Customers can replace one component or order the full drive unit |
| Pre-Assembled Motor-Reducer Option | Reduces on-site positioning, interface checking and modification |
| Replacement Support | A new motor can be confirmed from the old nameplate, dimensions and reducer model |
Power Range for Different Conveyor Drives
The 1.1–22 kW range allows the motor to be selected around the conveyor diameter, reducer model and required drive load.
Smaller frames are available for compact conveyor drives, while the larger 160 and 180 frames support higher-power assemblies without forcing one mechanical interface across every conveyor size.
Motor and Reducer Supplied as One Drive
The motor can be matched with an M or S Series gear reducer before shipment.
The following interfaces can be checked as one unit:
- Motor frame
- Output shaft diameter
- Key dimensions
- Shaft extension
- Reducer input flange
- Locating spigot
- Mounting-hole pattern
- Overall drive length
This reduces the risk of receiving a motor that has the correct power but cannot connect to the reducer.
Reduced On-Site Modification
A correctly matched motor and reducer can reduce the need for:
- Flange redrilling
- Shaft sleeves or adapters
- Keyway modification
- Temporary mounting plates
- Repeated alignment work
- Rebuilding the reducer input connection
The drive can arrive as separate matched components or as an assembled motor-reducer unit.

Motor power and frame size should be confirmed together.
For example, 5.5, 7.5 and 9.2 kW motors use the same principal shaft and flange dimensions, but their frame lengths and weights are different. Rear clearance should therefore be checked where guards, supports or other equipment are close to the motor.
Electrical specifications—including voltage, frequency and phase—are confirmed separately for the final order.
Choose the Required Drive Scope
| Supply Scope | Recommended When | Main Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Motor Only | Existing reducer remains serviceable | Replaces the failed motor without changing the complete drive |
| Matched Motor and Reducer | Both components require replacement or interfaces are uncertain | Motor and reducer connections are confirmed together |
| Pre-Assembled Drive Unit | On-site fitting work needs to be reduced | Reduces interface checking and assembly work after delivery |
| Complete Screw Conveyor Drive | Reducer ratio and conveyor output connection must also be confirmed | Provides one coordinated drive package |
Motor-Only Replacement
Motor-only replacement is suitable when:
- The existing reducer remains in good condition
- The reducer input flange is undamaged
- Motor frame and shaft dimensions are known
- Electrical requirements remain unchanged
- The available installation space is confirmed
Matched Motor and Gear Reducer
A motor-reducer assembly is more suitable when:
- Both components are worn or damaged
- The original connection has been modified
- The reducer ratio also needs to change
- The previous motor frame cannot be identified
- Separate components from different sources have failed to fit
- One complete drive interface is preferred
Complete Screw Conveyor Drive
The complete drive can include:
- YE Series motor
- M or S Series gear reducer
- Confirmed reduction ratio
- Reducer mounting connection
- Screw conveyor output spline
- Required drive-side interface
Motor power, reducer ratio and output connection are selected as separate parts of the same drive. A larger motor alone does not automatically increase conveyor capacity.
Replacement Matching Without Guesswork
Two motors with the same power rating are not necessarily interchangeable.
A replacement motor must match three areas.
Mechanical Interface
Confirm:
- Motor frame
- Shaft diameter
- Key width
- Shaft extension
- Flange diameter
- Bolt-circle diameter
- Locating-spigot diameter
- Mounting-hole quantity and diameter
Electrical Specification
Confirm:
- Rated power
- Voltage
- Frequency
- Phase
- Required rotation
- Wiring arrangement
- Installation environment
Installation Space
Confirm:
- Overall motor length
- Rear ventilation clearance
- Terminal-box position
- Nearby guard or frame
- Motor mounting orientation
- Space required for removal
When these details are confirmed before production, the replacement is less likely to require shaft adapters, flange modifications or changes to the reducer.

When the original nameplate is unreadable, send clear photographs of:
- Complete motor
- Motor-to-reducer connection
- Motor shaft and key
- Mounting flange
- Reducer model plate
- Terminal box
- Existing drive arrangement
Dimensions should be taken from machined surfaces rather than paint edges, guards or covers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our reducer is still in good condition. Is a motor-only replacement the better choice?
Usually, yes, when the reducer input flange, shaft connection and bearings remain serviceable.
The replacement motor must match the existing frame, shaft and flange dimensions. Electrical specifications should also remain compatible with the local power supply and control system.
The old motor nameplate is unreadable. Can a replacement still be confirmed?
Yes.
The replacement can be checked from the motor frame, shaft dimensions, mounting flange, overall length, reducer model and photographs of the installed drive.
Electrical information may also be available from the control cabinet, wiring records or previous equipment documentation.
Why can two 5.5 kW motors have different mounting dimensions?
Power rating does not define the mechanical interface.
Different motor series or frame standards may use different shaft diameters, keyways, flange sizes, bolt circles and overall lengths. The complete motor frame and mounting dimensions must be checked before replacement.
Can the motor and gear reducer arrive as one assembled drive?
Yes.
The selected motor and reducer can be matched and assembled before shipment. The motor flange, shaft connection, reducer input and required installation orientation are confirmed as one drive unit.
This reduces on-site fitting and avoids combining two mechanically incompatible components.
We use 60 Hz power. What electrical information must be confirmed?
Provide the required voltage, frequency, phase and application location.
The selected motor specification must be confirmed for the local electrical supply before production. Do not order from the mechanical dimensions alone.
Will installing a larger motor increase the screw conveyor capacity?
Not by itself.
Conveying capacity also depends on:
- Screw diameter
- Screw pitch
- Reducer ratio
- Shaft speed
- Conveyor inclination
- Material characteristics
- Inlet condition
- Internal screw design
Installing a larger motor without checking the reducer, shaft and conveyor load may increase mechanical stress without producing the expected increase in output.
