Description
XTB Inlet End Bearing Assembly for Radial and Axial Shaft Support
The XTB Inlet End Bearing combines a radial bearing, an axial bearing, a splined shaft interface and the inlet mounting housing in one screw conveyor end assembly.
Six XTB models cover conveyor diameters from 114–139 mm to 323 mm. The inlet housing dimensions increase with the conveyor size, while the internal bearing combination changes across the range.
This means the XTB cannot be selected from the screw shaft spline, one bearing number or the mounting flange alone. These parts must correspond to the same model configuration.
Paired Bearing Support Inside the XTB Housing
The radial and axial bearings occupy separate positions inside the inlet-end housing.
Rather than using one bearing configuration for every conveyor diameter, the XTB range contains three bearing arrangements:
| Conveyor Diameter | Radial Bearing | Axial Bearing |
|---|---|---|
| 114–139 mm | 6006 | 51108 |
| 168–193 mm | 6208 | 51108 |
| 219–323 mm | 6308 | 51208 |
The change between the 193 mm and 219 mm models is especially important. Both use a 35 mm ØC connection and 40 × 36 DIN 5482 interface, but their radial and axial bearings are different.
The bearing pair, shaft interface and inlet housing therefore remain parts of one complete XTB configuration.

| XTB35ES5B | 323 | 35 | 40 × 36 | 6308 | 51208 | 0.09 kg | 25 kg |
XTB25ES0B uses the compact 25 mm ØC and 28 × 25 DIN 5482 connection for 114–139 mm screw conveyors.
The remaining five models share the 35 mm ØC and 40 × 36 DIN 5482 interface. Their internal bearing pair and inlet housing dimensions determine the complete model.
The grease values are model data rather than a general maintenance interval or universal refill quantity.

The F, F1 and F2 diameters follow the corresponding conveyor inlet size.
For example, XTB35ES1B and XTB35ES2B use the same bearing pair, shaft interface and principal housing dimensions, but their F dimensions are 162 mm and 186 mm. The common internal components do not make their inlet housings interchangeable.
Bearing Pair and Inlet Housing Must Stay Matched
The XTB is selected as an inlet-end assembly rather than as a radial bearing and axial bearing chosen independently.
Three areas must agree:
- The ØC and DIN 5482 connection at the screw shaft;
- The radial and axial bearing combination inside the housing;
- The inlet mounting dimensions and threaded positions.
A replacement assembled around locally purchased bearings may no longer represent the original XTB configuration. Bearing codes taken from a repaired unit should therefore be checked against the housing dimensions and conveyor diameter.
The same applies when the inlet plate or shaft connection has been modified. A housing that reaches the mounting position may still contain the wrong bearing pair or shaft interface.
Replacing an Existing XTB Assembly
A readable XTB model provides the clearest replacement reference.
When the model marking is missing, confirm the conveyor diameter together with:
- ØC connection;
- DIN 5482 interface;
- Radial and axial bearing codes;
- F, F1 and F2 diameters;
- F3 thread and mounting quantity;
- Overall housing dimensions.
Photographs should include the complete inlet housing, shaft connection, mounting face and any readable bearing markings.
For a conveyor that has already received a locally repaired housing, replacement shaft or different bearings, the current assembly should be measured before the earlier model is reordered.
Frequently Asked Questions about XTB Inlet End Bearings
The old XTB was rebuilt with locally purchased bearings. Can we order the replacement from those bearing numbers?
Not without checking the housing and shaft connection.
Bearings installed during an earlier repair may differ from the original XTB configuration. Confirm the conveyor diameter, ØC and DIN 5482 connection, together with the F, F1 and F2 housing dimensions.
The replacement should correspond to the complete inlet assembly rather than only the bearings currently inside it.
Our 193 mm conveyor has a 6308 radial bearing in the old housing. Should we order XTB35ES2B?
The complete assembly should be checked first.
XTB35ES2B uses a 6208 radial bearing with a 51108 axial bearing. A 6308 radial bearing is used in the larger XTB configurations beginning with the 219 mm model.
The housing may have been rebuilt or fitted with different bearings. Measure the inlet mounting dimensions and verify the axial bearing before selecting the replacement.
The axial bearing is damaged, but the radial bearing still turns smoothly. Is the radial bearing condition enough to keep the old assembly?
No.
The inlet assembly should be assessed as a complete bearing arrangement. Check the axial and radial bearing positions, housing condition, shaft connection and mating surfaces.
A freely rotating radial bearing does not confirm that the remaining inlet assembly is suitable for continued use.
We plan to keep the existing inlet mounting plate. Which dimensions must match the new XTB?
Confirm F, F1 and F2 together with the F3 mounting thread and number of mounting positions.
The shaft-side ØC and DIN 5482 connection must also match. Retaining the inlet plate does not remove the need to confirm the internal bearing configuration.
Why do the 193 mm and 219 mm XTB models use different bearings when their shaft connections are the same?
Their ØC and DIN 5482 connections are shared, but the internal bearing arrangements are different.
XTB35ES2B uses 6208 and 51108 bearings. XTB35ES3B uses 6308 and 51208 bearings. Their inlet mounting dimensions and assembly weights are also different.
The shaft interface is only one part of the XTB model.
The old housing has no readable tag. What photographs are useful for identifying it?
Provide clear photographs of:
- The complete inlet housing;
- The shaft connection;
- The mounting face;
- The radial and axial bearing markings;
- F, F1 and F2 measurements;
- The screw conveyor diameter.
Include a ruler or caliper in the dimensional photographs. A close-up of one bearing number cannot confirm the complete XTB assembly.
